“This is an example of an offensive foul for charging. The on-ball defender, Jamal Murray, legally establishes himself in the path of the offensive player, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, and the contact on the play is initiated by the moving offensive player. By establishing legal guarding position in the path of a dribbler before contact is made, and before the offensive player started his upward shooting motion, the defender here effectively ‘beat his opponent to the spot,’ and drew the offensive foul for charging.”
