Goaltending, defensive player deflects lob pass on its downward flight Delay of Game, player interferes with opponent’s ability to inbound the ball Delay of Game, defensive player makes contact with inbound pass before re-establishing on court
“This is an example of a Delay of Game Violation that occurs during an inbound pass. The defensive player, Dennis Schroder, delays the game by repeatedly stepping in front of the offensive player attempting to gather the ball to make the inbound pass. This is a violation, as a defender may not impede their opponent’s ability to take possession of the ball prior to the inbound. Please note that the first offense is a warning, and a technical foul shall be assessed with each successive offense.”
