Double Dribble; player cannot fumble the ball, recover, and then dribble again

This is an example of double dribble violation committed by an offensive player upon losing control of the ball. A player who fumbles the ball may always recover the ball, but he IS NOT permitted to dribble if he has moved his pivot foot in order to retrieve the ball. On this play, the offensive player fumbles the ball as he ends his dribble and he then dribbles a SECOND TIME upon recovery. This is an illegal act, and it is a violation, and possession would be awarded to the opposing team.
