“This is an example of a violation on an inbounds play. The inbounding offensive player, Miles Bridges, exceeds the 5-second time limit to make the inbound pass. A thrower-in is allotted 5 seconds from the time that he receives the ball from the official to his release of the pass to any player on the court. This is a violation, as the thrower-in exceeds the allotted time limit. Following the violation, the ball is awarded to the opposing team at the sideline nearest the spot of the violation.”
