Offensive Foul, Offensive player veers into defender

“This is an example of a Non-Basketball Move where a dribbler abruptly veers off his path and moves sideways or backwards into a defender. The offensive player, Cooper Flagg, drives toward the basket, but he then abruptly moves to his left, initiating illegal contact to the defensive player, Kyshawn George, affecting his ability to defend the play. This is an offensive foul. An offensive player cannot veer off their path and initiate illegal contact that affects the defender’s ability to defend the play.”
