Impeding Progress, defender grabs offensive player’s arm Offensive Foul, shooter extends leg unnaturally into defender Defensive foul, defender makes contact with airborne shooter
“This is an example of an offensive foul for making contact with a defender in an unnatural manner. The offensive jump shooter, Draymond Green, kicks his leg out unnaturally toward the defensive player, Daniel Theis. And while it is the defender who then makes contact with the offensive player’s leg, this is an offensive foul. Offensive players may not extend any part of their body unnaturally into their opponent. Note also that if the ensuing contact is unnecessary and/or excessive, a flagrant foul may be assessed.”
