“This is an example of a Technical Foul for an overt gesture by a bench player that exceeds the ‘Respect for the Game’ guidelines. The player on the defensive team’s bench, Deandre Ayton, reacts to the foul call by standing up, walking along the baseline and throwing a towel onto the floor. While players in the game can react to calls with which they disagree as long as their reaction is not overly demonstrative, disrespectful, or prolonged, bench players may not commit such gestures.”
