“This is an example of a Technical Foul for unsportsmanlike conduct. The player on the non-shooting team, Rajon Rondo, throws a towel high into the air right as the free throw shooter, Taj Gibson, releases the ball on his attempt. This is an unsportsmanlike act, and, as the free throw was successful, a technical foul would be assessed. Note however, that had the free throw attempt been unsuccessful, then the ruling would be to award another attempt to the free throw shooter.”
