The defensive player, Dewayne Dedmon, establishes a legal position in the path of the offensive player, Isaac Bonga, prior to the start of the offensive player’s upward motion. Note that it does not matter whether the offensive player was attempting to shoot or pass prior to the illegal contact; since the contact was initiated by the offensive player, and the defensive player was in a legal guarding position, an offensive foul is ruled on this ‘pass-and-crash’ play.”
