Offensive foul, RA does not apply, shooter leads with knee Charging, RA does not apply, dribbler moving behind backboard Charging, RA does not apply, offensive player gains new possession in LDB
“This is an example of an offensive foul for charging, where the Restricted Area does not apply. The defensive player, Anthony Davis, establishes a legal guarding position in the path of the offensive player, Mike Scott, and the defender beats the offensive player to the spot. Since the offensive player is moving behind the backboard and he is not going directly to the rim, the Restricted Area would not apply, even if the defender was positioned inside the Restricted Area. This is an offensive foul.”
