“This is an example of a Delay of Game Violation by a player on the scoring team. The highlighted player, Elfrid Payton, makes contact with the ball after his successful field goal, and this contact prevents the opposing team from inbounding the ball in a timely manner. This is a violation, as no player may hold or redirect the ball after a successful basket, unless the contact with the ball is accidental or unavoidable. Please note that the first offense is a warning, and a technical foul shall be assessed with each successive offense.”
